The municipality is made up of valleys and mountains where Sa Mola de Planícia (942m), is 3 kilometers from the sea and separates Esporles and Puigpunyent in the south with heights of up to 933m in Es Teixos. The valleys of Son Coll, Roig and Cerdà are separated by Puig de Les Planes (334m) which divides the valleys of Banyalbufar and Son Coll. The eastern limit of the municipality is between the high plateau of Valldemossa and the valley of Son Coll. To the west the border with Estellencs by the last spur of the Muela de Planicia that advances to S'Algar.

As on the entire Mallorcan coast, observation watchtowers were built on the highest coastal points to warn of the arrival of corsairs. Defense towers were also built inside the town to protect against pirates. The Verger tower (located a few meters from the property), completely restored, allows you to get to know this type of construction.

The coastal watch tower known as Torre de ses animes offers magnificent views of the sea. The small cove of Banaylbufar is only accessible on foot by means of a ladder. Also worth mentioning is the Banyalbufar cooperative, dedicated to the recovery and production of the legendary Malvasia white wine.

The beaches and coves of Bañalbufar are: Cala Bañalbufar, Sa Galera and Puerto del Canonge.
